University of Lagos, popularly known as UNILAG is arguably one of the most popular Nigerian universities, and among the earliest universities in the country (Known as part of the first-generation universities in the country). It was established in 1962, sits overlooking the lagoon, and sits on over 800 acres of land.
This reputable school has three campuses, with its main campus located at Yaba (Akoka). Another of its campuses is also in Yaba, which houses the former School of Radiography. The UNILAG College of Medicine (which is the third campus is situated at Idi-Araba, Surulere).
The school is a new home for 9000 students every year and has about 55,000 students in its register.

UNILAG Admission requirement
To become a pilot, there are requirements that must be satisfied before one can be successfully referred to as a pilot. Likewise in universities like UNILAG, there are requirements that must be fulfilled before an aspirant can be considered for admission into the school as an Akokite.
As a secondary school certificate holder, listed below are the requirements that must be fulfilled before your admission status will stand a chance to be “Admitted”.
- Candidates must have a minimum of 5 credits in the Ordinary Level Credits of the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE), in not more than one (1) sitting.
- You must select the appropriate JAMB subject combination for your choice course.
- To get admitted to the University of Lagos, aspirants must score at least 200 in the JAMB UTME exam.
- UNILAG should be your first choice university.
- To be eligible for admission, you must participate in the UNILAG POST UTME/SCREENING for that particular year (if any, is available for the year)
- Candidates must be at least 16 years old.
For candidates seeking admission to the University of Lagos via Direct Entry, the requirements below are for you:
- Candidates must have a minimum of 5 credits in the Ordinary Level Credits of the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE/GCE), in not more than one (1) sitting.
- Candidates must have passed two subjects relating to their field of study at ‘A’ level/IJMB.
- Candidates must have passed in related topics at JUPEB/A Level.
- For the degree holders, (First Class/Second Class Upper) in a related discipline is required.
- Candidates for direct entry must acquire the UNILAG Direct Entry form from the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the UNILAG Portal.
- Candidates must have passed the National Certificate of Education (NCE), National Diploma (ND), and other Advanced Level Certificates with a minimum of merit.
