UNILAG School Hostel 2024 (Allocation and Fee)

It’s either you stay in the UNILAG school hostel or you live off-campus. Whichever one you like. It’s up to you to decide.

Wait, you want to stay in the hostel block of the University of Lagos? Okay. Why were you swiping past like you don’t care? There are certain conditions that are known to every student of UNILAG.

Well, you don’t seem excited, but we shall go on regardless.

List of UNILAG School Hostel

Staying at the UNILAG school hostel involves three possibilities: It is either you stay in the male hostel, or you stay in the female hostel. Guess what the last possibility is? You can get to stay in the mixed-gender hostel in UNILAG. How does that sound to you?

UNILAG Male Hostels

For the males, there are six hostel blocks allocated to them, and they are:

Eni Njoku Hall
King Jaja Hall
Mariere Hall
Saburi Biobaku Hall
Sodeinde Hall
The El Kanemi Hall

UNILAG Female Hostels

The female Akokites have one more block than their male counterparts. So much for gender equality (Tongue in mouth). Here is the full list below:

UNILAG Mixed Gender Hostels

Here is what you are waiting for. The mixed-gender hostels in the prestigious University of Lagos. But, before we proceed let me spoil your mood. There are only two mixed hostels in UNILAG. So, it means that to get a slot in these two unique hostels, you will have to be extremely lucky or have a ‘long leg’.

But how do you even secure a place in UNILAG hostels?

Students get a place in the UNILAG hostels through a process known as balloting. It is just a way of scrambling for a place in the hostel, but this time it is done online, and not physically.

How To Take Part Of UNILAG Hostel Balloting

Go to the UNILAG portal via studentportal.unilag.edu.ng
Log into your portal.
Scroll down to the accommodation icon.
Click on it.
Select your desired hostel.
Click on hostel reservation.
Confirm your reservation.
Download your hostel slip.

Choose your choice of hostel wisely!

UNILAG Hostel Clearance

What do you do when you are lucky to secure a place in the UNILAG hostel? You go for clearance to reaffirm to UNILAG that you really want to stay within its walls by showing up with these requirements:

Hostel confirmation slip (Original).
Seven (7) passports.
Bio-data form (For Fresher).
WAPIC Receipt (Photocopy).
Lagmobile Receipt (Photocopy).
Admission Letter (Photocopy) For Freshers.
2 Bed Sheets.
2 Pillow Cases.
Parents Passport.
Signed Conditions of Tenancy.

UNILAG Hostel Fee

Dear reader, the hostels belong to UNILAG but you are going to pay a fee to be able to stay in the UNILAG hostel. Or, you were not informed? Well, you are now.

NOTE: All UNILAG hostels cost ₦25,000 per session. How cheap does that sound?

Don’t be too happy yet, there is an exception: Sodeinde Hall (Male Hostel) which cost about ₦65000 to ₦85,000 per session.
