- The registration period for JAMB 2024 in Nigeria will begin on 15th January 2024, and end on February 26th, 2024.
- The JAMB 2024 examination will occur from 25th April to 2nd May 2024.
- The date of the JAMB mock examination is 18th April 2024.

How to register for JAMB 2024- Summary
To register for JAMB, you will need to approach the nearest JAMB CBT center with your JAMB profile code, ePin and O’level. The 7 steps for your JAMB Registration
Below are the ultimate 7 steps that you should follow in order to successfully register for JAMB.
Follow these steps one after the other and tick them off the list.
Step 1 – Get a new and Active Phone Number
A new and active phone number is the first thing you will need for your JAMB registration.
This is because you can only get your JAMB profile code if you have a mobile phone number.
Your phone number will also be included in your biodata and tied to everything related to your JAMB profile
You can buy a SIM card from any of the network service providers in Nigeria (GLO, Airtel, MTN or 9mobile).
This phone number must be unique and unrelated to any other JAMB registration.
Avoid using the phone number you used to register for JAMB the previous year.
Notice: It is recommended to get a new SIM card. Do not use the phone number of another candidate, not the one you used for JAMB registration last year.
Step 2 – Get your National Identification Number (NIN)
You must have a NIN number to register for JAMB.
Your NIN number will be required to generate a profile code for your JAMB registration.
The National Identification Number (NIN) is a code of eleven (11) digits that can be found on your NIN slip.
This code is compulsory for the JAMB exam.
How do I get my NIN?
To obtain your NIN number, go to a nearby NIN registration center.
The following documents are required to obtain a NIN number for your JAMB registration:
• Birth Certificate
• Local Government of Origin Certificate
Bear in mind that NIN registration is free, but because so many people register every day, the NIN slip may take several weeks or months to arrive. You may have to pay up to N3,000 to expedite the process and receive it within one week.
Notice: If you do not have an NIN yet, it is important for you to go to the nearest NIN office and register as soon as possible

Step 3 – Generate your JAMB Profile Code
Now that you have gotten a NIN, the next step is to get your JAMB profile code.
The JAMB profile code is a ten-digit number used during registration.
There are 2 ways to get your JAMB profile code using your phone number.
You can send a text message or you can use a USSD code. Make sure you have some airtime in your phone before you begin this process.
To send a SMS text message: type the word “NIN”, give space and add your 11 digit NIN Number on your NIN slip and then send to 55019 or 66019. For example: NIN 00123456789
To use a USSD code: dial *55019*1*NIN# or *66019*1*NIN# on your phone.
JAMB profile code generation costs fifty naira (50).
Once this is done, you will receive your profile code via SMS to the same phone number

Step 4 – Purchase your JAMB E-pin
The profile code generated in the previous step is what will be used to purchase your JAMB ePin.
The JAMB e-Pin is a unique token that all JAMB applicants must purchase to register for the exam.

- Directly from the JAMB website by visiting https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/
- Purchase one from the CBT center where you will be registering for JAMB.
- Visiting NIPOST or any of the following participant banks with your profile code STERLING, TAJ, FIRSTBANK, JAIZ, UNION, Polaris,and UNITY. You can also use the ATMs of these banks to purchase your ePin.
The JAMB ePin costs Three thousand five hundred Naira (₦3,500)

Process Of Payment For Foreign Candidates
Candidates from these nine foreign countries; Côte D’Ivoire, Ghana, Ethiopia, Cameroun, Benin Republic, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and the United Kingdom must pay a registration fee of $20 or the equivalent fee in any of the local currencies of the nine countries.
Candidates from the nine foreign countries must download the Application from the Board’s website (www.jamb.gov.ng), fill it out, and submit it with the fee to one of the nine designated centers listed on the website.

- Log in to their profile

Step 5 – Create an email Address
If you do not have a Google email address, you will be unable to create your JAMB profile.

Your email address and password belong to you and should not be divulged to anyone. Keep the information safe because you will need to login to your email to check important notifications from JAMB
Notice: Do not use the same email address you used last year. Create a new one.
Step 6 – Print out your O’level/A’level Result (If available)
Your O’level is your secondary school certificate. Your WAEC and NECO results are very common examples.
A printout of soft copy of your O’level result will be needed when filling your Biodata during registration

An A’level result is a result from advanced secondary school for direct entry applicants, that is, students applying for the 200 level. IJMB and JUPEB are two examples of A’level results. This is specific to DE applicants.
Step 7 – Head over to the nearest JAMB CBT Centre to Fill your Biodata and register

- Receive your JAMB profile code
- Purchase JAMB ePin online or in any banks in Nigeria using your profile code
- Create a new Email address. Preferably a Google email address
- Fill your Biodata form correctly. This will be used during registration
- Budget at least 5,000 Naira for this whole process

SELF HELP: Candidates who have lost or forgotten their JAMB Profile Password for login can reset it by texting [password] space [email address] to 55019 or 66019 from the same mobile number used for registration.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Board Has Resolved To Make Henceforth The Utme And De-Registration Process Cashless To Put A Stop To Acts Of Extortion. From The 2024 Utme And De Exercise, The Board Would Be Collecting The Approved Registration Fee On Behalf Of The Various Computer-Based Test (Cbt) Centers Along With Its Utme Registration Fees And Then Remit Weekly Whatever Is Due To Each Registration Center.
Jamb Mock Exam Optional
The Board will also conduct a mock examination in all accredited CBT centers, as it did last year, to prepare and familiarize INTERESTED Candidates with the CBT environment.
JAMB Mock exam is not compulsory.
Interested candidates should indicate their interest in the mock examination when registering for the Jamb. You will be eligible to apply for Mock if you register on time.
