WAEC Registration process 2024
The WAEC registration process differs based on whether a candidate is an external candidate or an internal candidate.
This process starts from the WAEC SSCE portal, for both parties, but the approach to the registration differs.
The internal candidates are candidates who are students of a secondary school. This group comprises secondary school final-year classes.
The external candidates are private individuals who saw a need to have the WAEC certificate, they can be tradesmen, craftsmen, and students on provisional admission.
WAEC registration process for 2024
- The internal or school candidates start their WAEC SSCE registration on the school portal. The portal for their registration is www.waeconline.org.ng/register/
- The external candidates register on the official WAEC portal at www.registration.waecdirect.org/.
So after getting to the relevant site, there are a series of instructions to follow and complete the online registration. They are:
- Go to “General information”
- Go to “how to register” to see the steps to take on how to register.
- Tap on “Available subjects” to access the list of subjects that are offered on WAEC.
- Click on “Available exam town” to access the towns that are available for selection, and to choose the one closest to you.
- Tapping on the “biometric data capture software” will kickstart the download of the WAEC biometric data capture application.
- Click on “Registration form” to download the form, to be able to fill it in.
- Tap on “Registration code/pin” to get a copy of the registration code on your device.
How to fill WAEC registration form.
Filling out the registration form is one of the most important and delicate stages in this registration. This is when your bio-data and personal preferences are recorded for usage. This form is more common among external candidates.
- The first step is visiting the portal via www.registration.waecdirect.org/
- Tap on “Registration form”
- You will be led to www.registration.waecdirect.org/home/manualform
- Fill the registration form with the required details, which include:
=> Bio-data: which includes important information such as:
- Name
- Gender
- Disability
- Marital status
- Maiden name
- Date of birth
- State/province of origin
- Country
=> Contact information: this refers to direct links to get to you. They include
- Phone number
=> Residential address: this refers to the place where a candidate or his family base. The values to fill in include:
- Address (e.g) number 23 bazewa street.
- City (e.g) Ikeja
- State (e.g) Lagos State.
=> Postal data: This is part of the requirements. Candidates are to fill for:
- Address
- City
- State
=> Examination location: this is where the candidates will fill for:
- State
- Preferred town of examination.
This is where a candidate will choose the town in which he hopes to write the examination. Candidates are advised to choose the best centre available for themselves.
=> Examination subject: This is another crucial part that determines which subject that will be registered. Candidates are expected to choose a minimum of 8 subjects and a maximum of 9 subjects. Out of the 9 subjects, two of them are compulsory. They are:
- Maths
- English language
