The location of the university is in Ilorin, which is currently the capital of Kwara state in the northwestern region of Nigeria.
Ilorin is a university town located at 1515, P.M.B, and is situated 481 kilometers away from Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja. The school’s campus spans an area of 15,000 hectares.

Unilorin Admission requirement
In order to be considered for admission into the University of Ilorin, there are specific criteria that every prospective student must meet. However, it is not as simple as just fulfilling the requirements. There are two ways to gain admission into a Nigerian university: through Unilorin Post UTME or through direct entry. It is essential to understand the requirements for each process. Here are the requirements for both:
Through Post-UTME:
- Being at least 16 years of age
- Having a minimum of 6 “C” grades (credits) in their O’level result(s), including English Language, Mathematics, and at least three other subjects related to their intended course of study. For example, a candidate who wants to study law must have a “C” grade in English Language, Mathematics, Government/History, Economics, and Literature in English.
- Scoring a minimum of 180 in the JAMB UTME examination. We have compiled the list of Unilorin cutoff mark for all courses here.
- Taking and performing well in the university’s post UTME screening examination. The required score depends on the candidate’s chosen course of study.
Through Direct Entry:
- Having a minimum of five (5) credits in their O’level result(s), including English Language and Mathematics. These credits must not be obtained in more than two sittings.
- Attaining the age of 16 or above.
- Purchasing a JAMB Direct Entry form from the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to apply for admission.
- Possessing any of the following certificates: OND, ND, NCE, IJMB, JUPEB, Cambridge A level, BSc, HND, or ICAN.
