How to calculate OAU JAMB cutoff mark

The aggregate score is gotten by computing your JAMB score, your Post-UTME, and O’level grades in a 50:40:10 ratio.

This means that the JAMB score takes 50% of the grade, Post UTME takes 40% and O’ level result (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) takes the remaining 10% and rounds the aggregate score to be 100.

See the method of calculation:

Your JAMB score divided by 8 + OAU Post UTME Score + O’ level Points = Aggregate

The way to calculate OAU departmental cut off mark is quite different from what is obtainable in other schools, while most universities use a 50:50 ratio where student’s JAMB and Post UTME grade are considered when Computing grades, Obafemi Awolowo University uses JAMB, Post UTME and O’ Level (50:40:10).

Here, the student’s JAMB score takes 50% of the grade, Post UTME takes 40% and O’ level result (WAEC/NECO/NABTEB) takes the remaining 10% making the total aggregate score 100.

This is how it is calculated: Your JAMB score divided by 8 + Your OAU Post UTME Score + O’ level Points = Aggregate Score.

Check the table below to know how many points each WAEC grade carries in the OAU aggregate score calculation:

GradePoints
A12.0
B21.8
C31.6
C41.4
C51.2
C61.0

In essence, the aggregate score system is the equivalent of the OAU JAMB cutoff mark.
